Position plans

The position plan is a general plan that illustrates in the text and in the drawing, exactly where individual construction elements are to be placed. The location, dimensions and numbers of elements are taken from the static-strength analysis. For the visualization and explanation of construction calculations, position plans are created in the form of construction drawings.
It contains detailed information about the bearing elements, marking of building materials and dimensions of individual elements. Furthermore, the directions of mounting plate elements and clear marking of individual elements along with their final positions are recorded. If the components are bearing, the strength class of building materials is determined. Relevant environmental conditions are also taken into account in the position plan. In the case of reinforced concrete structures, the exposure class is determined. In the case of wooden structures, the selected usage class is specified.
In order to make everything clear, the construction engineer uses abbreviations, which are listed and explained in the legend.

What elements does the position plan consist of?

1

Each structural element is marked with a position number. Such an element is uniformly framed and marked with a number, letter or both. The elements are listed in the legend, so-called list of elements.

2

Each component to be armed is described in detail. This includes information about the type of component (e.g. foundation, retaining wall, ceiling), dimensions, amount of reinforcement and reinforcement arrangement.

3

If there is a clearly defined direction of stress, the elements shown in the projections are given with the corresponding stress direction symbol. The direction of stress between supports is indicated by a stress arrow.

4

The dimension that is relevant for the load-bearing capacity appears directly next to the element or, depending on the amount of other information and for the sake of readability, on the list of elements

5

The list of positions is part of the position plan and decodes individual abbreviations, specifies dimensions, material and its quality. All positions presented in the plan appear here and are decoded.
